The Liminal Space: A Reflection in the Wake of COVID-19
— Adam Ring
These works attempt to depict an intermediary space between two conditions. With the world changing so rapidly and turbulently, it’s hard not to feel anxious about the uncertainty. These works attempt to explore the problem of constantly striving to reach a sense of certainty, yet not always being able to do so. So, in the context of this exhibition, the future of space is represented as further transitional states (existing in the overall liminal space). These works take this concept and apply it to various areas of life where it always feels like we exist in the in-between. In the end, these works hope to convey that sometimes the best we can do is try to be comfortable with where we are while always striving toward the space we want to be in.
